Our Little Family

A couple weeks ago, I subjected Brent to having family pictures taken.  In my defense, it HAS been a year since our last professional family photos, and I just love being able to look back at these sweet moments frozen in time in the form of a picture.  So we saddled the horses and headed up Birch Creek, just a few miles from our home to our horse pasture.  The day was perfect, the weather was perfect, and our photographer, AMY NIELSON, worked her magic.  Brent may have done a little complaining, but in the end he was impressed with how they turned out.  Oh, I love this little family of mine.
I had trouble picking my favorites to post, so I just posted all of them.  What the heck!

This picture speaks for itself.  During this shot, while Brent and I were smooching, Brody had the biggest grin on his face, accompanied by the giggles.

The sun came out just long enough to drench us with its yummy rays.

Such a stud.

Love this one- it melts my heart to watch Brody and Brent together.

Once again, check out Brody's face!-- priceless!

Amy Nielson surprised us with a video TREASURE.  The song she chose for the video is PERFECT ("The Day Before You" by Rascal Flatts)-- it fits our story so well.  It made me cry like a baby.

"I had all but given up. . .
There was no such thing as a dream come true.
Oh, but that was all the day before you.

Now you're here and everything's changing
Suddenly life means so much
I can't wait to wake up tomorrow
And find out this promise is true
I will never have to go back to
The day before you

In your eyes I see forever
Makes me wish that my life never knew
The day before you

Oh, but Heaven knows those years without you
Were shaping my heart for the day that I found you
If you're the reason for all that I've been through
Then I'm thankful for the day before you"
                               --Rascal Flatts
                                                   "Day Before You."

Truly, the BEST part is that we NEVER have to go back to those dreadful days of hoping, longing and praying just to be "MOM," and "DAD."
Thanks to adoption, and to Brody's birth parents' courageous choice, we will FOREVER be
"Mom," and "Dad"
and we will NEVER take that for granted.
